Dalara Darabi is at high risk of execution for a murder that took place when she was 17.  She denies committing the crime.  She claims that Amir Hossein asked her to confess because it was believed that she could not be executed because of her age.  Dalara's attorney is hoping that the case will be reviewed but Dalara's file has now been sent to Ayatollah Shawrudi who, at this point, can approve the execution.  In Iran the death penalty is most often carried out by hanging. 

Iran is a signatory to international treaties prohibiting the use of the death penalty for crimes committed before the age of 18.  Nevertheless, Iran routinely executes children.  Link:
